Hywel Dda University Health Boards’ response to the Consultation:                         The general principles of the Childcare Funding (Wales) Bill.

Hywel Dda University Health Board would support legislative powers for the provision of funding for childcare for an enhanced childcare offer (30 hours for 3 and 4 year olds), for qualifying children of working parents and to make regulations about the arrangements for administering and operating such funding ensuring the receipt of funding for the enhanced childcare offer is fair, equitable and supports the reduction of health inequalities across the wider determinants of health.

The Health Board will engage with interest with our local partner, Carmarthenshire County Council as they have been invited to be part of the year 2 pilot as an engagement authority from January 2019.
